The Twelfth Neuroscience Conference, training course of Initial care of the adult and paediatric neurocritical patient: TBI, SCI, HIDROCEPHALUS, MYELOMENINGOCELE, is being held on 21 and 22 September at the Conference Room of the High Complexity Hospital “President Juan Domingo Perón”, together with Intensive Care Unit.
Aimed at all healthcare workers, professionals and technicians who are involved in the neurocritical care of patients: doctors, nurses, instrumentalists, health workers and students.
With a broad scientific list of topics, the event will have two major areas of work this time. On the one hand, adult and pediatric head injury and on the other hand, the care of two types of emergencies, hydrocephalus and myelomeningocele in the newborn and breastfed baby.
From the institution informed that head injury, traumatic brain injury, will be addressed on Friday morning, where the management of the neurocritical patient will be developed, that is, all patients affected in their neurological functions with risk of death and sequelae.
In the afternoon, the activity will be aimed at the pediatric management of head injury, spinal injury and treatment of hydrocephalus and myelomeningocele in breastfed baby .
On the other hand, on Saturday will be the classroom workshop modality, which will deal with healing techniques, spinal immobilization, management of cerebrospinal fluid drainages, and management of the orthoses placed in traumatized patients, among others.
The Head of the Department of Neurosciences of the HAC, Dr- Prof. Javier Gardella commented that "These days are part of the plan of continuous training of the human resource of health of the province. They are carried out in the specific working conditions for our community. All those professionals and technicians from the area of health and human resources in training who have specific interest and responsibility in the care of patient with traumatic brain injury, pediatricians, generalists and obstetricians, are invited ".
